Description

The Nuna vineyard (3,150 ft. elevation) in Agrelo is Chakana s first Demeter certified organic vineyard. Nuna means soul in Quechua.

Aromas of roasted red pepper and sweet red fruit with vanilla, chocolate and spice. Full-bodied with very soft tannins.

Grapes are carefully chosen and fermented in small lots to preserve the vineyard identity. Alcoholic fermentation for 12 days with indigenous and selected yeasts, at temperatures of 26 and 30 degrees C, combining, remontage, pigeage and delestage. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels.
